Fresh off hosting Canada's biggest 10K run, Vancouver is gearing up for one of the world's most exotic marathons.  This Sunday, thousands of runners  will converge on the city for the BMO Vancouver Marathon along Pacific coastal forest, beaches, leafy residential neighourhoods and mountain vistas.

Last year, this scenic course was named a top 10 marathon worth travelling  to for by Forbes. CNN travel listed it as one of the worlds's most exotic marathons, up there with the Dead Sea Marathon in Jordan and the Australian Outback Marathon.

The course starts at Vancouver's highest point, Queen Elizabeth Park, before winding through the residential West Side. After passing through UBC, racers will curl down to Spanish Banks and run by the sandy beaches of Kitsilano.  Finally, they cross the Burrard Street Bridge and circle 1000 acre Stanley Park on the way to the finish line at Coal Harbour.

Even if your not running, on race day the downtown finish line is transformed into a family-friendly street festival, with food sampling, live entertainment and more.

Registration for the marathon is $149 today rising to $159 on Thursday.  18+ only for the main race.

Many of us claim that we need very little sleep to survive an active day.  These claims are likely more than just big talk.

President Obama claims to only need about 4-5 hours of sleep a night.  Martha Stewart works well on about 4 hours a night.  Ceo of Pepsi, Indra Nooyi requires just over 4 hours.

So, what's their secret - Is not needing much sleep the secret to their success or is it just that they have longer work hours to accomplish more.  Can you work crazy long hours and still have a life?  Maybe we need  to train ourselves to try and survive on just 4-5 hours.  I don't know - without a nap I would likely hit the wall at 9pm.  Does napping count?  Who's actually more productive with less sleep?

The good news?  If you require 8 hours of sleep, plenty of people have found ways to be just as successful and still sleep almost as much as the average Canadian which is about 8.5 hours of sleep on an average day.  How many hours do you require to be successful?

So we heard all the news about how Vancouver may look like a great place to live, but it's not.  And B.C. as a whole is one of the unhappiest parts of Canada, where not a single city in our beautiful province cracks the top 10.   Toronto is actually a happier city then Vancouver.  Who comes up with these stats?   They say that if you want to be happy, move to Quebec-anywhere in Quebec.  Vancouverites rated their life satisfaction at 7.8 out of 10.  Nobody asked me.  How about you?  And since when is 7.8 out of 10 so bad.

Well I might have a solution to our problem. (if it really is a problem).  According to a new study in  Psychological Science it is said that people show more signs of happiness when they sniff sweat generated by people in a neutral emotional state. It goes on to say that 'being exposed to sweat produced under happiness induces a simulacrum of happiness in receivers, and induces a contagion of the emotional state - whatever that means.  So when somebody is happy, they will infuse others in their vincinity with happiness.  Well if that's the case, then gather round. Let's make Vancouver the happiest city on earth!!!

On August 22th Lonsdale Avenue will be emptied of cars and filled with a giant stretch of slippery slide to revive the Car Free Day street festival in Lower Lonsdale.

The slide will not only be steep and fast, but it will be crazy long - a whopping 1000 feet of non-stop action.

Did you know that the order in which you eat your Easter Bunny could actually say something about your personality.

If you believe in all that stuff (as of course I do)  check the list and see if the way you eat your eater bunny says something about you.

Ears First:

If you’re the kind of person who nibbles on the ears first, you’re a practical organized and traditional person who values security and you’re extremely loyal.  You might be a little impatient at times but everyone loves you!

Tail First:

If you start with the chocolate tail, you’re the type that usually takes the road less traveled. But don’t think it’s because you’re an innovator, because you usually don’t like people knowing just what you’re up to.  You’re a bit cautious and maybe a little sneaky!

Biting or Snapping Off Rabbit Head:

You’re restless, independent and always on the go, and being a go-getter, you like to get the job done.  You also have a sparkling personality and make friends easily.

Smelling It First:

If you tend to smell the chocolate rabbit before taking a bite, more than likely you’re a bit cautious.  You also tend to have high standards and you’re a very detail oriented person.  You’re also polite, very well mannered and you hold back, because you don’t want others to see that you’re also a bit odd!

Smashing the Bunny:

You’d think anyone who’d smash a chocolate bunny to bits would rate right up there with a serial killer, but in fact, you’re just filled with lots of ambition and enthusiasm.  You’re “just do it” attitude is how you live your life.  You’re also a bit unpredictable, and keep others around you always guessing.

Go In Feet First:

If you eat the chocolate bunny paws first, it’s not so much because you’re trying to gain some “rabbit foot” luck, but rather you’re a caring and nurturing type of person, who also needs constant assurance that you are loved back.  Your insecurity causes you to fear being taken for granted or taken advantage of, thus clinging, or in the case of eating the feet first, “hobbling” things so they won’t get away.

Breaking Bunny In Half:

Breaking the chocolate bunny in half is pretty much how you live life, “half full” being a bit skeptical or pessimistic about things.  However you have a purpose in life, of making others feel like they have it better.  This is not necessarily a bad thing, you like being a pessimist, and some find your pessimism a bit humorous.

I honestly can't remember the way I ate my last chocolate bunny but I would like to say that I start by 'smelling it 1st'

All in the spirit of good fun - Have a wonderful weekend celebrating Easter, Passover or whatever you choose to celebrate.  Enjoy!
