It's actually happening! Adults and children alike can rejoice at the news that th City of North Vancouver will be getting a giant water slide for one day only this summer.
On August 22th Lonsdale Avenue will be emptied of cars and filled with a giant stretch of slippery slide to revive the Car Free Day street festival in Lower Lonsdale.
The slide will not only be steep and fast, but it will be crazy long - a whopping 1000 feet of non-stop action.
Of course, riding the slide won't be free, if you want to take a turn a single will cost you $20 if you pre-purchase your ticket. Participants must be at least 5 years old and 117 cm tall, and everyone who slides must have an inflatable tube for safety issues.
Early bird tickets for the ride have already sold out, so it's probably a good idea to reserve yourself a chance to slde on the Slide the City website. Should be fun!!
