That's right - the 33rd annual VIFF starts today and runs through to October 10th. For 16 days almost 365 films from more than 70 countries will play on 9 screens. This is one of the largest film festivals in North America with films from around the world, but with a special emphasis on some great Canadian content. I would think one the more interesting films this year would be The Story of the Vancouver Asahi, a fasinating true story about a team of Japanese Canadian baseball players who became a symbol of hope.
